A bill to raise Michigan's small claims limit from $3,000 to $10,000 (SB 269) was amended down to $8,000 before passing out of the Senate Judiciary Committee last year.  While HALT supported increasing Michigan's threshold to $10,000, we are now supporting the legislation as amended and have encouraged the House Judiciary Committee to enact SB 269 as amended.  A hearing on SB 269 is expected during March, 2012.
